This document serves as a guide for all working members, we call them Architects, providing clarity on our values, decision-making processes, and mechanisms for resolving disagreements, inspired by Sahil Lavingia’s journey of creating Gumroad.
Core Values
Efficiency
- Ship Early and Often: We prioritize action and learning from real-world feedback.
- Clarity: Preferring text and image communication, we ensure all important information is easily accessible and understandable, minimizing the need for synchronous meetings. Save time for others first.
- Simplicity: Embracing a minimalist approach, we carefully choose our battles, saying no by default to distractions. Avoiding superficial tasks.
Results-Oriented
- Long-Term Value Creation: Success is measured by sustainable growth and cash flow to distribute, ensuring the prosperity of our platform and its members.
- Learning from Outcomes: Reviewing our actions and outcomes monthly to better predict and plan future initiatives.
Excellence
- Surpassing Expectations: We aim not just to meet but exceed our objectives, focusing on delivering exceptional value.
- Adaptability: Recognizing the dynamic nature of our roles and the ecosystem, we remain flexible and open to change.
Failure and Feedback
- Zero Tolerance for Inaction: Active contribution and progress are expected; lack of updates and visible value creation may lead to be pruned in seasonal meetings.
- Constructive Feedback: Open and honest feedback is encouraged, aiming for personal and collective growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Andrew: I'll make aggressive decisions to ensure HOPON runs itself. Each individual is responsible for aligning their actions with the DAO's goals and KPIs. If one apply wages for a job, I’ll request the result applies above measurements. If one apply governance attack then I’ll be the first one to veto it.
